Big Fish: Coming Soon!

This spring, the IKE Drama department is performing its production of the musical “Big Fish” by John August and Andrew Lippa. The musical highlights a father and his son, their story and journey as they try to build a strong relationship. Along the way, the father, Edward Bloom, meets so many people, like a mermaid, a witch, and a giant.

However, performing a musical isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Preparing for a musical requires long, hard work, which impacts the actors' schedules. For example, there’s a pit orchestra that rehearses for months before showtime, preparing for the big day. Additionally, the set design crew is very busy making all sorts of props, from tables to walls. Finally, last but definitely not least, the cast has to worry about remembering lines, costume changes, being able to sing, and act all at once. Do you think you have what it takes? You’d be wrong!
