Music Genres Describe Us

            Music is something that can bring people together and feel strong emotions, or just overall can make one feel at ease and content.

            A poll was released to students to answer the following question; “What is your favorite music genre and why?” I’ve received a ton of great answers from everyone. The poll the students had to answer had multiple options that they could choose from. In the end, R&B and rock both ended up in a tie, with 3 people each.

            The people's response when I asked why they picked R&B was more of the same each time. They like how the lyrics are, the instruments, and the vocals. Two even said they had a deeper connection with the music. One saying how the music reminded them of their parents. Saying, “...I grew up listening to this kind of music. It always makes me reminisce and brings back funny memories like seeing my parents dance and sing when blasting songs.”

            When I asked the people who choose rock why they picked it, most of them said it made them feel certain ways like how it hypes them up, expressive how they feel, and even one person said you can listen to it without your ears bleeding. The people who voted for rock liked the fast beats, the loudness of the songs, and just over all how it sounded.

In the end, it doesn't matter what you listen to. Don't think this is telling you what's good or not. Music is a way for people to express themselves, remember fun memories, and just to have fun.  This poll was just made for fun and to see what everyone liked.
