Talk Abou Mental Health
"If you're depressed, reach out to someone. And remember, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" - Robin Williams. Mental health is often a topic that can be really touchy and sensitive, or one that people use to joke around or poke fun at. Millions of people, of all ages, suffer from mental health issues. 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.A experience mental health problems every year. 1 in 7 people between the ages of 6 and 17 experience a kind of mental health disorder each year. 50% of mental illness begins as young as age 14. No mental health is better or worse than the others. People go through stages of their lives that can be challenging for them, but compared to someone else, very easy to sort out. This doesn't make that person better or higher up than the one experiencing it.
There are a variety of coping mechanisms and strategies that can help get through such a hard time. Ways to get through are things like: Go for a walk - Clearing your mind with the physical and visual fillers. - Meditate - taking time for oneself with no electronics for an extended period of time. Take a nap - Sleep is an important factor to keep one's persona. Listen to some calming music - listening to not only calming music but music that can bring you to a certain place can ground you back to a better mind to go on about the day. One big filler to take someone’s mind to a better place is to pick up one or more time-consuming hobbies, such as cooking your own food.
Mental health is never something anyone should deal with alone; reach out for help. Reach even if help doesn’t seem or feel like an option.
