Soccer Player, Jesus Garcia
The Eisenhower Cadets Varsity soccer team is showing great determination and resilience this season, according to senior Jesus Garcia. With a current record of 4-3, the team has experienced both highs and lows, but Garcia says the group remains confident in what they can accomplish together. “The season has been going pretty well,” Garcia said. “Even with some ups and downs, we know what we’re capable of as a team.”
One of the biggest challenges the Cadets have faced so far has been consistency. While the team has proven it can compete at a high level, Garcia emphasized the importance of putting together complete performances from start to finish. “ We've shown we can compete, but it's about putting full games together,” he said.
Despite this challenge, the team has already had some standout moments. Garcia pointed to a rivalry match against Davis as a defining game this season. After being down 0-1 at halftime, the Cadets fought back to secure a 2-1 victory. “It showed our fight and ability to stay composed,” Garcia said.
Team chemistry has also been a major strength for Eisenhower this year, with 12 seniors on the roster, leadership and experience have helped build a strong, unified group focused on success. “ Our chemistry is great,” Garcia explained. “We don't care about individual stats, we care about winning games together.”
Looking ahead, the Cadets have their sights set on a clear goal; making it to State. Garcia believes that if the team continues to improve and stay consistent, they have what it takes to finish the season strong. “Our main goal is to make it to State,” he said. “ We just need to stay consistent, keep improving, and finish strong.”
As the season continues, the Eisenhower Cadets will aim to turn their potential into results, relying on teamwork, leadership, and determination to push them toward a postseason run.
