Still Dancing!

Our Ike Dance Team has truly had an amazing season so far and continues to impress the judges who watch them perform.   From their detailed halftime routines at football and basketball games or their fun, creative performances during pep assemblies, the team always brings energy, confidence, and school spirit. Every time they take the floor, it’s clear how much hard work and dedication they put into what they do.

Their competition season has been just as exciting. At their very first competition, the team earned a score high enough to qualify for Varsity Pom districts, which is an incredible accomplishment so early in the season. On top of that, they also received first place for the costumes they designed themselves, showing their creativity and attention to detail both on and off the floor. The success didn’t stop there. On December 13th, both Varsity Pom and JV Pom earned first place at their competition, proving how strong the entire dance program is. Then, on January 17th, Varsity Pom competed for the third time this season and once again placed first, earning their highest score of the year with a 240. They also beat Richland, a team that had previously placed second at state, which made the win even more meaningful. At the same competition, JV Pom earned their highest score of the season, showing just how much it has grown.

A huge part of this team’s success comes from the leadership of Captain Ella Martinez and Co-Captain Mariah Sutton. Their leadership has helped bring the team together and push everyone to be their best. Because of them, the team has grown stronger, more confident, and more united as the season has gone on.

Overall, the Ike Dance Team has made the school incredibly proud this year, and their hard work and passion truly show in every performance.
