IT: Welcome to Derry
A new show came out and has been releasing new episodes each week on HBO, that show being “Welcome To Derry”, based on the books and movies of IT by Stephen King.
It revolves around these five kids who are trying to survive the weird side of Derry. The year starts in the 60s, and you really get to understand the backstory of Pennywise the dancing clown and how he became what he is.
The show has given so many emotions; it's genuinely amazing. There is horror, comedy, and a lot of anxiety. If you don't like gore, maybe it's not your kind of show.
The first episode moves fairly fast, and if you get past the first episode, it is genuinely amazing. There are some weird parts of course in certain episodes, but the show overall is great.
The last episode airs on December 14th, bringing season one to an end. There are supposed to be multiple seasons, and I'm pretty excited. I genuinely recommend this show if you liked the two IT movies.
What makes this show so great is the way it's put together. You can tell they took their time making it so everything aligned with the movies, books, and the back stories of Derry. The actors did very well, and you get to see the clown's backstory and life before he became who he is. Also, it was very nice to see how the newer movies tie into the show, by their older family members in the show in some way, whether a grandfather, uncle, mother, father, etc.
