Round Up Outside!

For the first time in 15 years, we have had an outdoor assembly to celebrate Round Up on the football field. This is one of the oldest traditions that was brought back to life this year, adding something new for our students. The ASB put together the assembly, and much work and detail went into it for the students to enjoy.

This assembly was made to kick off the fall sports season, specifically for the football team. The main objective of this assembly was to help build up school spirit among the students here at Eisenhower and get them excited about the upcoming football games.

First, the assembly began with Sarah Lara singing the Star-Spangled Banner. She did an excellent job and ended the song with a big applause from the crowd. Next the band played the fight song, helping to demonstrate what they will bring to this upcoming marching band season. Following the band,  the dance team performed their pom routine, Shanian Twain. They have put a lot of work and effort into this routine, and it's paid off with an exciting performance that had everyone screaming and clapping.

After the dance performance, ASB President Daniel Garcia and Senior Class President Ellie Suhm walked up to the front and began the assembly, hyping up the students, and gave general details about football games and the importance of school spirit.

Soon after, the activities began. This year's varsity football team was introduced to the whole school. They showed up with fiery energy, spirit, and hope for success in their future games. Additionally, Coach Wright spoke to all the students about the importance of attending games and how that can positively affect the team's spirit.

The second half of the assembly shifted to the competitions between the varsity football team and students from Ike. The first activity was a relay race against the football team, where the students carried their partners by piggyback, wheelbarrow, and baby carry. It was a fun time for all those involved. The final activity was a football throwing competition, where 10 students all gave a shot at attempting to throw farther than the football team's quarterback, Angel Arciga. They all gave it their best shot and had fun with their peers.

This pep assembly encourages all the students to participate in school spirit and attend the football games. Not only is it fun, but it helps our students feel included and involved, and reminds us that we all matter, and that each one of us contributes to the spirit of the school. Let's hope for the best to happen to this year's football, marching band, and dance season, and give them all our cheers and support. Go! Fight! Win! Cadets!
