¡Festival del Cinco de Mayo!

What better way to start off this sunny month of May than with a street fair filled with food vendors! This year’s Cinco de Mayo celebration, it was hosted on May 1st, ironically not May 5th. This is our annual food fair outside Eisenhower, on South 44th Ave, in front of the main office.

Eisenhower promotes small businesses, while the clubs can turn a profit and get seen. We have clubs such as NHS, Bridge, and Art Design that were able to sell food to the huge groups of students.

On Friday, the groups were split into two lunches based on your 4th-period class. This prevented traffic from becoming too hectic. Some of the vendors sold shaved ice, ice cream, donuts, and tacos. Even… Dubai chocolate with strawberries. There were fun attractions, with Mr. IKE doing a Pie in the Face with this year’s contestants and coordinators.

Cinco de Mayo is one of the highlights and marks a great ending in the last weeks of the School year for everyone. Since our last street fair was almost 7 months ago, in October for Fall Fest, this marks a pivotal experience for all Cadets who get to spend the day with their friends.

For our seniors, this is the last of the four years of Cinco de Mayo fairs you have to experience together with your friends. But don’t waste the experience because it will be done before you know it.

It’s evident why this event is a tradition. It brings people together, and you get yummy food in return.
