Spark Club: Prevention Through Awareness
Spark club focuses on drug and alcohol prevention. They offer a supportive environment where students can learn about the dangers of substance abuse, engage in peer-led activities, and participate in community outreach programs. Their mission is to empower students to lead drug-free lives through education and community involvement. Envisioning a school community where every student embraces healthy choices and feels supported in their journey towards personal growth and wellness. The club is excellent at providing resources and guidance to help students make informed choices and develop skills in leadership and advocacy. As a group they like to table once a month in the commons to spread information about the club and the risks of substance abuse. They’re all always looking for new members to join and represent an epidemic that affects so many people and families lives.
A part of representing this club is they do monthly national campaigns that are related to awareness. Last month in September was Suicide Prevention Month. A specific national campaign they’ll be tabling for this month is for Red Ribbon Week. Dedicated to remembering DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena and reaffirming our commitment to living drug-free lives. This year, they’ll be tabling for this week. They encourage everyone to stop by, pick up a red ribbon to show support, and possibly win some great prizes. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about the importance of making healthy choices and to demonstrate their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.
