Marching, Color Guard, Cheer, and Dance at Sunfair
On Saturday, September 20th, thousands of citizens from all over Yakima came together to march in the annual Sunfair parade, including groups such as the Cadet Marching Band, Davis, East & West Valley, Selah Middle and High School, and Highland marching bands. Eisenhower marching band was #79, including the Ike Dance, Cheer, Environmental Club, Color Guard, and Marching Band. The Ike Drum-line kept the energy pumping with “Genesis” and their Latin-inspired drum cadences.
There were many significant moments and firsts for different groups. For example, this was the first year Selah had an official Marching Band, which was huge for them. On top of that, there was a giant cannon shooting pipe bombs and literally an entire band on one trailer. All of this considered, from bands to cannons, this year’s Sunfair Parade was definitely one to remember!
