We Are IKE 2027!

From student sections to drama kids, IKE has always had immense school spirit. This was increasingly evident on Friday, September 18th. On this day, the whole school showed up in the cafeteria flaunting their white “We Are IKE” shirts. This moment happens every year, showing off IKE’s dedication to school spirit and the students’ incredible participation.

This year, DeWitt stared out at a sea of white and snapped many pictures, hoping to capture the energy and excitement from the crowd. Mr. DeWitt says this is his 11th time fundraising for these shirts, with different student groups also helping. He also organizes handing the shirts out to students and allows the whole student body to come together for an amazing picture. No other school does this, he explains; we are special.

This couldn’t be done without voluntary participation, though; you are needed for this to be a success. From student groups helping to fundraise, such as LINK Crew, to students helping hand out shirts, and you wearing the shirt and showing up for the picture.

So keep showing up! Wear your shirts out and about and show off your school. Show up to football games and cheer on our team. If football isn’t your thing, come watch the fall play. Or help fundraise with Mr. DeWitt to keep this tradition going. Either way, if you see DeWitt in the halls, make sure to say hello and thanks!
