What is The Five Star Journal?

The Five Star Journal, a student-run, written, and published paper, was handed out by fellow classmates around the school. It isn’t just a random stack of papers that appears at your teacher’s room doorstep once a month. It is full of written stories, memories, and information about the school and the world. The students who take their time to write these stories try to make them as entertaining as they can, to capture the attention of their fellow classmates. We focus on the topics that may seem entertaining in addition to expressing the things we enjoy.

News explains what happens in our day-to-day life, as well as information about what is currently happening in the world, and how it affects us. Sports, articles in sports are tributes to our players and the work they put in to make our school proud. In opinion, students are given the liberty to write about certain topics in the interest of those whose opinions might agree with the written opinion. Lastly, Arts and Entertainment features the school band, music of any genre, plays, movies, and games.

A newspaper is like monthly yearbooks; it discusses topics of our school, pictures of our students smiling, look through the newspaper and you might be in a picture. Students smiling, enjoying the school life, are often found in the newspaper, even in the very beginning.

Well if you haven’t really read or even picked up our newspaper before I doubt you’ll be reading this, but for those of you who are, thank you for reading!
