New Freshman Leadership

In case you missed it, IKE has found its new Freshmen ASB leadership team. All positions were open, and it was anybody’s game. There were definitely no shy numbers for applications. Voting took place on Friday, September 18, during advisory. Leading up to the election, some candidates made posters and engaged in other activities to persuade their peers to vote for them. With a big turnout like this, the only way to keep everything organized was through video speeches and a Google Form ballot. After watching all the videos and counting up the votes, let’s find out who won!

Your Freshmen ASB President is Elena Perry; next up, your Vice President is Vanity Garcia; elected Secretary is Laela Moran; and finally, your Treasurer is Evalyn Chavez. Congratulations to the winners, and welcome to the IKE community. The Freshmen Rep are: Janett Mendoza, Declan DeWitt, Jayden Gomez, Sarai Martinez, and finally Audrina Castillo

The essay, interview, and Video speech process is over, and you all are a part of an amazing and dedicated group of students. It takes a lot to be in student leadership, with a range of responsibilities, from long hours of volunteering around and outside of school to planning and running assemblies. It takes a bit of crazy to make our school great, but from what we have seen so far, this group of officers 100% can do it.

To wrap this up, the winners of the Freshmen ASB election are Elena Perry, Vanity Garcia, Laela Moran, and, lastly, Evalyn Chavez. The responsibilities they share are challenging but not impossible. They all sent in videos that gave the voters a peek into who the candidates are. The Freshmen leadership team went through a fierce interview process to get in, but it’s worth it because they are getting involved in something that will impact the rest of their high school experience. As a whole, the class of 2031 is full of energy, and this batch of officers is a great match. Good luck to the new officers.
