The Importance of Being Involved: Winter Sports

It’s time for Winter Sports! Don't miss this opportunity to be engaged. Sports can have a positive impact on your life when it comes to school; being involved encourages you to have something you can be proud of. It’s not as simple as it may sound. This takes students having discipline, time management, and resilience. Participating and being involved in sports and clubs have an immense impact on building these traits.

Paul Stephens, the Eisenhower Athletic Director, gave us insight into joining clubs and sports at school. Mr. Stephens says, “Join a club or a sport, and your grades will go up, and you’ll enjoy high school a lot more.” It’s believed that when you’re involved in any school-related experience, be it sports, clubs, or events, you will find where you belong.

This Winter offers many options and opportunities for joining a school sport! Winter sports options include boys' basketball, girls' basketball, boys' wrestling, girls' wrestling, dance, cheer, bowling, and boys' swimming.      Motivation comes in many different ways, and there are different tactics for each person. For some, a good coach who will relentlessly keep your head up and persistently encourage you to stay on track does the trick. For others, the concept of a team that always has your back and creating strong bonds is enough determination and motivation to be content. You develop a sense of school pride and look at life from different perspectives. Whether you’re on the court, on the sidelines, or in the stands, we hope to see you this Winter. GO! FIGHT! WIN! CADETS!
